Salesforce Admin Cert Review

Time:

I studied for a total of 14 days. I wanted to take the exam in 7 days. However I couldn't keep up the 200mph @ 200mph pace. The Security+ took a dent and I needed to stop at a Rest Stop for 3 days. The Admin can be a bit dry and and sometimes I found myself looking at the screen for 10 minutes at the same question.

My Security+ date was not meant for Dec 23rd but Dec 27th. I took it a week early so I could study an extra week for Admin. This was a very smart decision as I needed the extra week.

Cost

Cert: $0. Work paid the $200.
FocusOnForce: $20.

How To Study

I used FocusOnForce and googled topics I didn't know. For example if a question said "Salesforce Knowledge" or "Duplicate Rules", I would look that up on YouTube and then do a trailhead or experiment on it.

4. Experimenting around in my Free Developer Org

If you mix it up, studying is better.

Difficulty

I passed by 70%. It was easier than the PD1 but still a scary exam. The first five questions were the hardest. It gave me a bit of a scare thinking, "oh no is it going to be like this the whole time"? The difficult questions are the pick 2 out of 4 or 5 options. I had a few moments where three options looked good and I had to decide what to eliminate.

Notecards

I didn't have too many notecards this time around. Writing (even just once) helps my memory.

Release of CCDC ISE Manager Website

I worked on the ISE (Inject Scoring Engine) website from 2017 to 2019. I made it to encourage teams to follow a merit-based, open admission tryout format. I identified a problem and made a solution for it. Problem: Call for Merit and Fairness on CCDC Rosters Solution: Github Project Solution: How to run a Team After Tri-C was finished with 2017 Midwest Wildcards I used httrack to grap the Inject PDF files. I didn't grap just the files, but the entire front-end code of the website. If you created the HTML and CSS of the original ISE website, tell me your name so I can give you credit! My goal was to make an almost-replica of the original. The database and back-end code is all guessing by me. I used a LAMP stack because I believe the original website is built on that.
